Barcelona sign Firpo from Real Betis on five-year contract



Barcelona have marked Spanish left back Junior Firpo from Real Betis on a five-year bargain for an underlying exchange charge of 18 million euros ($19.99 million), the Spanish bosses said on Sunday.

Firpo, 22, is Barcelona's fourth enroll of the nearby season after the Catalans marked forward Antoine Griezmann, midfielder Frenkie De Jong and goalkeeper Neto.

"FC Barcelona and Real Betis have arrived at an understanding for the exchange of Junior Firpo for a measure of 18 million euros in addition to 12 million euros in factors," Barcelona said in an announcement.

"The player will sign an agreement with the club for the following five seasons, until June 30, 2024, with an end statement of 200 million euros."

Firpo played multiple times in La Liga last season, scoring three objectives and getting four helps as Betis completed tenth.

Barcelona start their alliance title barrier on Aug. 16 when they travel to Athletic Bilbao.
